ever been hungry without anything to eat?

ever had to decide between medicine and food?

Join us in helping to end hunger in Contra Costa by
advocating for the poor, donating your time and
your resources!
"Hunger in America", a study
published in 2006 by researchers,
funded by private industry and
encompassing over 50,000 people
who experience hunger found that
over 35 million people experience
hunger or are in danger of being
hungry at least once a week. The
people that receive assistance from
food pantries and organizations like
Loaves and Fishes of Contra Costa
are often working poor. At least one
third of the recipients hold a job.
Over a third of the people receiving
help are children under eighteen
years of age. Eight percent are
children under six years of age. Ten
percent of the recipients are seniors.
We offer a nutritious meal to any hungry person. We
aim to provide a safe, comfortable eating
environment.  We are non denominational and strive
to include all people, regardless of religion, race,
beliefs or circumstances.

Loaves and Fishes of Contra Costa has served the
Contra Costa County communities for over twenty-
five years.

Thousands of our  Loaves and Fishes volunteers
have prepared and served over three million meals to
the needy
